Circlips are made from carbon spring steel
strips or bars serve as radial spring fasteners
for positioning and retaining components in
assembly. Normally, the circlips are either
axially assembled (either over shafts or inside
bores) or radially assembled over shafts.

Serrated lock washers are primarily intended
to establish electric contact in cases where
the screwed parts are coated with non conducting
lacquer and similar coatings. If such washers
together with bolts and nuts of low property
classes are used to prevent unscrewing, then
the suitability for this purpose shall be proved
in each case. |

Belleville spring washers type ‘A’
can be used in most light metal assemblies
to provide a useful elastic spring action
proportionately high with respect to the washer’s
outer diameter. They can be flattened out
completely when tightened, with out effect
on their elasticity. Also used in certain
assemblies with out effect on their elasticity.
Also used in certain assemblies with a view
to compensating any axial play.
Belleville spring washers type ‘B’can
be used with all grades of materials of bolts
or screws, as well as the torques applied
therewith.
Specially recommended in the following cases
On aluminium, light alloy or plastic work
pieces, on painted or polished parts with
a view to avoiding deterioration of the surfaces. With
light alloy screws (Aluminium, berillium,
copper, brass.

To be used mainly for compensating of play
or as a spring in certain assemblies. Elimination
of ratting, reduction of noises, maintenance
of a determined pressure etc.
Their spring action is unlimited, although
the flattening load can be high.
In order to obtain a more important spring
action under relatively slight flattening
load, it is sufficient to stack them in opposition.
In order to obtain a stronger spring action
with a low flattening load, it is sufficient
to stack them in series.

Multitooth lock washers are used with screws
and nuts to effectively add spring take up to
the screw elongation and to increase the frictional
resistance under the screw head or nut face.
These are normally used where security of assembly
is critical.
